Wallbreaker is an Expert Advisor which trades breakouts while taking current support and resistance level into account. The EA rather aims to profit from smaller price movements than long term trends. About 200 trades per year can be expected.
Wallbreaker can be operated in an automated, semi-manual and manual mode. In semi-manual and manual mode the EA notifies the trader if a trading signal occurs, the trades have to be manually confirmed to be opened. In semi-manual mode the EA automatically manages all open positions, in manual mode this has to be done by the trader too.
The initial stop loss and take profit limits are dynamically determined based on market conditions, open positions are safeguarded by a trailing stop. Additionally, the EA can partially close open positions to secure profits.
Wallbreaker provides a complex money management with three different settings. Option one allows to set a fixed risk per trade as a percentage of the account balance. In this case the lot size may vary even if the account balance remains the same, because the dynamically calculated stop loss limit of each trade is taken into account. Option two allows to set a fixed amount plus a proportion of the accumulated profits while option three allows to set a fixed lot size. All options allow individually settings for long and short positions.
Based on backtests, the risk reward ratio ranges around 2:1 which in combination with a hit ratio of about 75% is a respectable value.
A Monte-Carlo-Simulation, based on backtests (2009-2013), with a lot size of 0.05, a starting balance of EUR 1.000 and 100.000 iterations, shows the following results regarding expected profits, expected drawdowns and the derived value at risk. Here the value at risk is expressed as the drawdown which is expected with a probability of 95% and 99% respectively not to be exceeded.
